The San Antonio Youth Chorale (SAYC) is collaborating with a cohort of UTSA singers and accompanied by a chamber orchestra of the San Antonio Philharmonic to present its FALL CONCERT FOR CHILDREN AND EVERYONE ELSE. The exciting, informal event happens Sunday afternoon, November 13 at 4pm in the Woodland Sanctuary, 15315 Huebner Road in San Antonio. The CONCERT is free and all are welcome!

The CONCERT FOR CHILDREN AND EVERYONE ELSE is designed from the basic model of Leonard Bernstein’s Young Peoples Concerts produced for television audiences in the 1960s. Brief, colorful explanations are given by the conductor for certain aspects of the music, the instruments, the voices, and the historical significance of the composition being performed. The children (and everyone else) will enjoy hearing how the various instruments and voice parts add color, texture, and dimension to the total sound. The goal of the concert is to be educational, entertaining, engaging, and inspiring for all … listeners and performers alike.

Children and their parents are invited to enjoy “preferred seating” close to the conductor, orchestra and choir. Ushers will lead concertgoers to seats which will enhance their Concert experience. The program is 60 minutes long, and the Sanctuary will begin filling around 3:30. Please dress comfortably, arrive early to find your seat, and enjoy the beauty and joy of the Concert!

The San Antonio Youth Chorale (SAYC) is the local student choir of YouthCUE, a network of youth choir directors across the United States. YouthCUE directors and choirs are committed to choral excellence and leadership development within the context of safe environments and multicultural communities.
