This ministry begins at birth, with the Woodland Sprouts room, for children from birth through age two. The professionals in our nursery are eager to provide nurture while parents attend Sunday School, worship, and other activities.
Our preschool ministry includes Sunday School, children’s choirs, and missions education. In addition, three-year-olds through kindergartners are dismissed to a special time of play on Sunday mornings about halfway through the service.
Extended Session Volunteers needed!
Your job is to take the children during the church service back into the Nursery area or on the Playground.
There will be at least 2 helpers with you.
Each child should have a tag with their name on the back of their shirts. When their parents pick up the children, please take the tag from the child’s back and the tag from the parent and put it on the sheet that will be in the Nursery Area.
If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Shinkins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The elementary students at Woodland begin each week with graded Sunday School classes. They join the rest of the congregation for worship. On Wednesdays, they assemble for children’s choirs and additional time learning about worship and creating art for our services. A free Vacation Bible School is offered each summer. Kids who have completed 3rd through 6th grades also have the opportunity to join us for Children’s Camp.
Special events are held throughout the year for our children and their families. The annual Gift Making Workshop is one highlight of the Advent season at Woodland. Advent and Lent Family Workshops help parents and grandparents to mark the seasons of the church calendar with their young ones. Children’s Sunday is held each spring to give our kids the opportunity to lead in worship and to highlight their growth to the congregation. Other special events are held throughout the year.
