Woodland partners with Iglesia Bautista Emanuel in Laredo with a focus on learning from each other while doing missions. We have sent Woodland members to Laredo several times and Emanuel has sent members to Woodland a few times as well.
Laredo-Nuevo Laredo Mission Trip
$30 + 3 meals
Cuban Refugees have been stuck in Nuevo Laredo for several months and their numbers continue to increase. Until recently, Cubans could enter the United States legally if they could step from land to land. So, they journeyed for 9 months through Central America, through Mexico to Texas. That rule no longer applies and they are stuck.
Our friend Lorenzo and Iglesia Bautista Emanuel (along with many churches and ministries on both sides of the border) has been serving in Nuevo Laredo among the Cuban Refugees almost daily. They are helping with lodging, food, and medical care. They are now trying to help them get Mexican work visas and jobs.
We will join Emanuel for worship on Sunday evening, April 23, visit with Cuban Refugees and serve them on Monday morning, work on landscaping at the compressed earth block house in the afternoon, then return home.
